I might be able to see if pick a part has them for any cheaper. Information is scattered on this, but from what I can tell I should be able to get the OEM 8" screen and the APIM out of most any Ford with a Sync 3 system, add a wiring harness + new USB ports, get it programmed and it should just work? Just a quick look on ebay had the screen and apim + programming to your VIN for 400-500ish. Sub $500 but may have to deal with quality issues.ģ)Go Sync 3. These go for ~$200-300 depending on the processor you pick, + $60 for the carplay dongle. This would look mostly OEM, but the USB for carplay would most definitely not be in the oem spot nor look oem. They say they have on screen climate control built in, steering wheel controls built in, and carplay via a USB dongle adapater. These LOOK nice, but as they are from China they are of questionable quality. I see on ebay, alibaba, seicane, there are a variety of Android headunits ~10" screen, which includes new ac controls that actually look OEM. No thanks, especially when the dash kit is fairly ugly anyway.Ģ)Go chinese. Dash kit is ~$450 and then thats plus the price of a nice double din radio, at least another $3-500 depending on how fancy. This will work, but its likely the most expensive option of them all. After researching, it appears i have 3 options:ġ)Go aftermarket. a nice big touchscreen display with carplay functionality is what we are after. She likes it a lot, but doesnt care for the 4" stock radio it came with.
